Judge Richard Altman's life is turned upside down when his son Lucas commits a hit-and-run. Richard understands that Lucas' life is in danger and decides to make it look like his car was stolen to protect him... but nothing goes as planned.
Richard continues to try to pull the strings of the investigation and directs Laure towards a false lead that incriminates Ludovic Lebrun, a dirty cop, and Driss Adibi, ex-dealer of Riva. The Riva clan is determined to take revenge, and executes Lebrun.
Kévin ends up denouncing Belaïd. However, overcome with remorse, he decides to retract his statement. Running out of options, Richard tries to flee with Lucas. But Lucas, panic-stricken, runs away. Desperate, Richard warns his mother-in-law, Hélène.
Kévin's death brings Richard and Leila closer together. The noose tightens around the Altmans when Laure reopens the investigations because of the Ventolin found on the scene. Through his own investigation, Simon finds Lucas' high school, and recognises him.
Simon learns the truth about the accident, but chooses to spare Lucas. Hélène, ready to do anything to save her grandson, makes Rebecca believe that she is responsible for Mathieu's coma. This sacrifice costs her life and leaves the judge and her son in turmoil.
Lucas decides to take responsibilities, and turns himself in. He then reveals to his father a version different from the one he gave to the police, even more terrible. Horrified, Richard goes to the Rivas with a gun.
