As another day of fantasy plays out in Westworld, where guests pay top dollar to share wild-west adventures with android hosts, programmer Bernard Lowe alerts park founder Dr. Robert Ford about incidents of aberrant behaviour cropping up in some recently re-coded hosts.
First-timer William and repeat visitor Logan arrive at Westworld with different expectations and agendas. Quality Assurance debates whether a recent host anomaly is contagious, and a madam in Sweetwater's brothel has her emotions tweaked in order to avoid a recall.
Elsie and Stubbs head into the hills in pursuit of a missing host. Teddy gets a new backstory which sets him off in pursuit of a new villain, leaving Dolores alone in Sweetwater. Bernard investigates the origins of madness and hallucinations within the hosts.
Dolores joins William and Logan on a bounty hunt in the badlands. The Man in Black, with Lawrence in tow, finds a critical clue in his search to unlock the maze. Dr. Ford and Theresa discuss the future of the park. Maeve, meanwhile, is troubled by a recurring vision.
Dolores, William and Logan reach Pariah, a town built on decadence and transgression - and are recruited for a dangerous mission. The Man in Black meets an unlikely ally in his search to unlock the maze.
Elsie uncovers a possible source of sabotage while Bernard searches for clues to anomalies in a sector thought to be abandoned. Theresa questions Ford's leadership while Lee encounters a new arrival at Westworld. The Man in Black and Teddy run afoul of a Union garrison.
With Theresa's assistance, Charlotte aims to expose dangerous flaws in Ford's creations. William, Dolores and Lawrence journey into treacherous terrain. Maeve delivers an ultimatum to Lutz and Sylvester. With his back to the wall, Bernard considers his next move.
Ford orders a reluctant Bernard to conduct business as usual. Maeve looks to change the script for her storyline. Teddy is jarred by dark memories, while the Man in Black recalls some of the travails that brought him to this critical juncture.
Maeve approaches Sweetwater's long-time outlaw Hector with a bold proposition. William tries to convince Logan to help liberate Dolores. Teddy and the Man in Black get closer to what they’re looking for. Stubbs's suspicions are aroused.
Ford unveils his bold new narrative; Dolores embraces her identity; Maeve sets her plan in motion.
While the Delos corporation sends in its security forces to combat the rebellion, Wyatt, Maeve, and the other hosts pursue their respective new goals. The rescue team finds Bernard and the new Head of Operations asks for his help.
Hosts continue to make moves in the park. Dolores looks for allies sympathetic to her cause and shows Teddy the truth of his existence. In the past, Dolores gets her first taste of the outside world and William shows her a weapon of mass destruction.
Host alliances are forged and broken. As the rebellion spreads to the park's other sections, the divisions between those "worlds" begin to blur. Furthermore, a new Guest comes to Westworld, and Bernard has a meeting of minds with Peter.
William continues to play Ford's "new game". Bernard and Elsie make important and disturbing discoveries about what the Delos corporation has really been doing.
Maeve and her allies have revelations in a new world. Delores realises that the Teddy she knows can't be a part of the new world coming. Karl, meanwhile, discovers something sinister about the hosts' data.
Maeve finds her daughter; Delores finds the "real" Teddy; Grace finds her father; Charlotte and Stubbs find Peter; and Elsie gets closer to the truth about Delos.
Charlotte and Bernard review Bernard's memories to discover what happened to the missing control unit. Meanwhile, Robert has a chat with Bernard, and Maeve confronts her former tormentor.
Another of Westworld's host revolutionaries is revealed. Meanwhile, Emily finds the Man and convinces the Ghost Nation to hand him over to her to ensure his suffering.
A family tragedy and fragile states of mind come into focus as the Man in Black and Teddy both reach their breaking points. Dolores continues her trek across the park to the Valley Beyond, and Bernard receives another visit from Robert.
The Man faces a personal reckoning while Akecheta and the others find the door. Meanwhile, Bernard meets with Robert one last time after choosing how to deal with Dolores.
