The events of the series revolve around two contrasting communities; one belonging to a strict religious sect and the other to an open-minded secular society.
Maryam lives a difficult life with her husband, Nae'em, due to his strict and rigid mindset. She begins working at a pastry factory. In the meantime, Lavant meets the grandson of the sect’s Grand Master, Junaid, who is suffering from unresolved childhood traumas.
Maryam struggles to help her daughter Zainab get to school, with the support of her sister-in-law, Birgol. Meanwhile, Beste, Lavant’s wife, leaves the house without informing her husband or their daughter.
Lavant and Mira are both shocked after Beste leaves the house without explanation and upon seeing Maryam and her daughter in their home. Meanwhile, Hasna’s brother is punished by her husband, Sheikh Sa’adi, for his lack of commitment at work.
Mira tries to reach her mother, Beste, and her friend Jan helps her obtain her mother’s phone number. Meanwhile, Maryam and Lavant meet again after she forgets her ID card at Lavant’s house.
Sovay is astonished by Maryam’s daughter’s intelligence in physics, and Maryam tells him that Zainab has been secretly studying without her father’s knowledge. He offers to tutor Zainab himself.
Cornered by Maysar, Maryam is forced to choose between what she believes in and her daughter.
Lavant, who is about to send Zainab away, is cornered by sudden news and has to choose between his daughter and Zainab's fate. On the other hand, Nae'em tries to test Maryam, whom he is sure is up to something, with Zainab.

Faiza takes it upon herself to give lessons and advice to Zainab, but jealousy ignites in her heart because Junaid chooses Zainab and grows close to her. Nae’em’s visits to Nadra’s house become frequent, and she tries to get close to him and win his heart.
Hande goes to the lodge with Birgol, wearing a headscarf, to prepare a news report on the Mortals. Sovay behaves disrespectfully toward Maryam.
Maryam returns to work at Lavant’s house and comes to understand his father’s health condition. A major quarrel occurs between Hande’s manager at work and Seshkin over Hande’s phone being lost at the lodge.
At Nae'em’s request, Nadra begins working at the factory. Meanwhile, Maryam secretly celebrates her daughter Zainab’s birthday.
Lavant rescues Zainab from Junaid as he attempts to harm her and brings her safely back to her family. Meanwhile, Beste returns from her travels, meets with Hande, and pleads for her help in reuniting with her family.
Zainab prepares to leave for France, while the relationship between Nae'em and Nadra deepens. At the same time, Arif tries to rekindle his romance with Birgol.
Faiza is forced into marriage as punishment for her schemes against Junaid and Zainab, and Junaid refuses to come to her aid.

Hasna confesses to Sa’adi that Selim had drugged her drink and Faiza's, and that she was the one who switched the glasses.
Rida shocks Sherine and Selim, who had believed he was dead, by revealing that he is alive and exposing the truth about Aziz.
Selim continues trying to see Faiza, refusing to stay away from her.
Hasna breaks down after learning that the lodge is being shut down. Lavant decides to move to Paris with his family.

Nae’em and Birgol reconcile. Maysar asks Luqman for forgiveness after breaking his heart. Incited by Mahmoud, Selim opens fire on Maryam and Lavant. Maryam's condition is revealed to be critical.
Maryam is fitted with a temporary artificial heart as doctors urgently seek a donor to save her life.
Selim escapes from Erhan, Mahmoud's aide, and goes to Faiza. Lavant informs Junaid of Mahmoud's message.
Lavant makes the ultimate sacrifice, donating his heart to Maryam.
Mahmoud threatens to burn the lodge to the ground.
The women of the lodge unite behind Maysar, demanding that it remain open.
Maryam calls on the men of the lodge to sponsor orphaned children, arrange marriages for unmarried youth.
Maysar and Luqman decide to adopt a baby girl. Zainab remains angry and heartbroken over Junaid, who decides to divorce her.
Sa’adi and Hasna adopt the child Yusuf. Junaid and Zainab reconcile. The lodge hosts a collective wedding ceremony, including Luqman and Maysar, as well as Junaid and Zainab. Zainab withdraws from the University of Paris and returns to her homeland.
