Sally is bored witless after a ten-year relationship with her fawning, milquetoast partner David, who is desperate to get married. Although she reluctantly agrees to the union, a chance encounter with Emma propels Sally into unchartered sexual and emotional terrain.

It's Sally's birthday. After a subdued celebration with co-workers Nigel, Eleanor and Mick, Sally heads home for a surprise dinner with her stodgy parents, who are shocked when Emma shares details of her relationship with their daughter.

Can eggs be sexy? It's one Sally must answer as her company launches a campaign to make the humble egg seductive. However, as Emma becomes increasingly needy and demanding, Sally's performance at work begins to suffer, and her chances of promotion start to look bleak.

Emma has landed a small part in Dan's film, which stars Lena Headey as an autistic 19th-century baker. Meanwhile, Sally takes time off work to attend David's father's funeral.

Sally is in trouble with her boss Deborah, who thinks that her relationship with Emma is having a detrimental effect on her work.

It's the annual work away day for Sally's marketing department. Emma doesn't want Sally to go, but Sally puts her foot down and joins her team at the hotel, where Deborah explains that there is a shortage of rooms and that she and Sally will have to share.

Sally and Emma check into a hotel for their honeymoon, where a bout of suspected food poisoning soon develops into something else altogether.
