Alone in the Himalayan wilderness, Cat survives a mugging, steals a truck and recalls episodes from her past - her recruitment, her phobia of rats, and Rughal's temptations. She returns to Rabiah in Cairo. In Seville, new bearers Ivana and Heinz arrive.
Shocked that Rughal could create an artificial eclipse, Ramzi seeks the Guardian's help. At the Ice Palace, Rughal readies Operation Eclipse and traps Red Shroud, using his power for a forcefield.
