After 7 years training in London, Alberto returns to Madrid. It's the eve of the annual fashion show in which the collection of the Galeras Velvet is presented. For Alberto's father Rafael, much depends on its success as the family business is in financial difficulties.

Reunited with his young love, Alberto invites Ana to the show. The festival is in full swing as the two steal away. Their escape, however, comes to an abrupt end: when the news of his father's death is announced on the car radio, Alberto rips the car wheel and crashes.

Alberto takes over as managing director and appoints friend Mateo as his right-hand man. He wants to attract a young clientele but soon experiences a dampener in his enthusiasm: when the media spread news of the bankruptcy of the Galeras Velvet, the bank refuses a loan.

Pilar presents Alberto, Gloria and Patricia with a contract to take over the Galeras Velvet, but Alberto refuses to sign. Gerardo offers to invest 10 million but makes a condition: Alberto has to marry his daughter Cristina. Alberto discusses the offer with Ana.

A young man, Max, appears in the sales rooms and impresses Emilio and Patricia with his sales talent. While Emilio urges Ana to start anew in his friend's tailoring shop in Barcelona, Alberto plays for time: postpone the wedding for a year to mourn his father's death.

Emilio receives a visit from the mysterious Fernando who has extorted hush money in the past from Rafael over certain incidents in Cuba. At Alberto and Cristina's engagement dinner, Gerardo reveals to his future son-in-law the wedding is to take place within two months.

When Clara runs over her fiancé Pedro after her secret rendezvous with Mateo, her sister Rita saves the day. Ana sees a stranger leave Alberto's office late at night: the safe empty; Alberto unconscious. Max is revealed as Blanca's son, who does not want her deed known.

Cristina meets a displeased Alberto, who after his dispute with Gerardo wrongly accuses her of telling her father about the break-in. Having learnt from Patricia about the Galeras Velvet's financial situation, Alberto wants to break off talks with Rael de la Riva.

Pressed by his accomplice Dominguez, Max steals a pearl necklace from the Galeras Velvet. Shortly before Alberto's birthday, the press announces the business connection between the Galeras Velvet and Rael de la Riva as well as the engagement of Alberto and Cristina.

Emilio and Blanca search staff belongings for the stolen necklace. Patricia confesses to Gloria she failed to catch Alberto and Ana in flagrante. In fact, Alberto hopes to spend time with Ana undisturbed in the City of Love. Pedro is surprised by the news he has a son.

Serious concerns are being dealt with by Gloria: Pilar threatens to reveal to Alberto the secret of his father Rafael and his stepmother, and Fernando again demands hush money. Blanca gives Max her savings so that he can pay his supposed debts and start a new life.

Max confesses to Blanca that he stole the identify of her true son. In Paris, Ana waits in vain for Alberto who is dealing with a drunken Cristina. On returning to Madrid, still feeling deceived, Ana demands a break. Meanwhile, Alberto is blackmailed again.

Blanca has not yet forgiven Max but finds courage to tell Carmen about her brother. Alberto hesitates to comply with the blackmailer and discusses with Ana. Emilio accuses Gloria of blackmailing her own stepson and confronts Ana about her relationship with Alberto.

While Pedro marvels at Manolito, Rita reminds him of the practical choices he now has to make as a father. Luisa goes in search of Juan but the police bring terrible news. Alberto vigorously defends Rael de la Riva's designs against the criticisms of Gloria and Gerardo.

There is a stalemate within the management of Galeras Velvet: although Gloria and Gerardo vote against the completion of the new collection, Alberto receives Patricia's backing. Alberto confesses to Ana he can no longer live without her and takes her to a small chapel.

A few hours before the start of the fashion show, Cristina hands over an envelope from Ana to Alberto, but the letter remains unread. Clara experiences the fashion show first-hand when she briefly steps in for one of the mannequins and becomes the star of the evening.

Alberto and Cristina wake up together the morning after the show. The opening of the sales rooms for customer is a flop. When Gerardo confronts Alberto with Ana's letter, Alberto makes his future father-in-law an offer. News arrives that Francisco was found dead.

The tide seems to turn when the first dresses are ordered, but the clients are all Cristina's friends. Carmen leaves for Barcelona. Emilio suffers a heart attack and Ana keeps vigil. Rael de la Riva recognises an opportunity: the Duchess of Monaco is in town.

In Emilio's absence, Patricia clearly feels comfortable in the role of deputy and leads a strict regiment. Since Alberto thinks he and Cristina hardly know each other, she persuades him to play a game of "truth or duty". Frantic preparations are made for a high visit.

Thanks to the press reports of the Duchess' visit, customers flock to the Galeras Velvet. Everything is now ready for the wedding of Cristina and Alberto. Gerardo announces his son Enrique will represent the interests of the Otegui family in the Galeras Velvet.

Clara confesses her love to Mateo. Pedro confesses of his love for Rita. The pregnant Luisa sticks to her decision and orders Paulina to put an end to her predicament. At Club Mateo, Cristina looks for her fiancé in the garden and has to watch Alberto and Ana kiss.

After seeing Alberto kiss Ana in the garden, Cristina is deeply disturbed. So much so that Mateo introduces Ana as his fiancée, and Ana plays along. When Enrique confronts Alberto and Mateo with his ideas for the Galeras Velvet, his lack of expertise becomes apparent.

At dinner, Cristina cross-examines the supposedly engaged couple Ana and Mateo. Enrique reveals to his father that he will look for ways to get rid of Rael de la Rivas. Having just reconciled with Clara, Ana makes a terrible discovery: Cristina's wedding dress is gone.

It's all hands on to finish the new wedding dress overnight. Mateo, Alberto, Adolfo and Antonio continue the night drinking. Antonio brings the conversation to the seamstress Ana. Promptly there is a brawl with Alberto, which attracts the attention of other guests.

On the verge of a nervous breakdown, Cristina is delighted when Rael de la Riva presents her with the dream in white completed the eve before. Alberto takes away Mateo's promise to keep an eye on Enrique during his absence before being groomed by Emilio for his wedding.

As the radiant bride leaves the Galeras Velvet on her father's arm, the first guests have already taken their seats in the church. Alberto arrives late, so the bride's car has to do a lap of honour. When the priest asks for his yes-word, Alberto hesitates unduly.

Back from their honeymoon, Alberto and Cristina are provided a warm welcome. In business terms, Mateo has bad news: the fashion designer Rael de la Riva has disappeared without a trace. Isabel, Alberto's mother believed dead, returns from Cuba to make a clean slate.

Alberto agrees to make the airline uniforms to stop Enrique going on the attack. With Clara's help, Alberto finds Rael de la Riva. Legally entitled to Rafael's estate as his widow, Isabel threatens to make Gloria's fate public if she continues to deprive her of her son.

Alberto is surprised by the timetable for the completion of the uniforms. Carlos pledges his support, but there is no fashion designer. Gloria asks Emilio to arrange for Isabel's return to Cuba and signs over all her possessions to Patricia to safeguard her inheritance.

Alberto realises Patricia is under the influence of Enrique. Blanca and the young Max indulge in their passion. Alberto declares Ana the winner of the competition and hands over her designs for the uniforms. Emilio offers Isabel the post as a second workshop manager.

Fashion designer Lorenzo Palacios receives support from Enrique and Patricia for his proposal to banish Rael de la Riva's collection from the Galeras Velvet. After Isabel's departure, Gloria tries to nullify the document that gave Patricia all her worldly possessions.

Alberto asks Ana to revise the uniform designs according to Palacios' wishes. Under the name Elena Valle, Isabel gets a job in the tailoring department. At the same time, Rael de la Riva returns to the Galeras Velvet and Patricia reveals she now holds 40% of the shares.

In place of the airline owner, his daughter Sara arrives. She rejects the designs, threatening to cancel the order. Gerardo calls for order and insists Rael de la Riva be reinstated. In a tactical manoeuvre, Enrique demands a joint decision of all the shareholders.

Ana's collection seems to be in jeopardy when it turns out that Se'or Ortega, owner of Airsa, is in negotiations with Bloomingdales. Ana and Alberto decide to fly to New York with Alberto planning to auction classic models from his father's era to finance the trip.

Max can't draw a line under his relationship with Blanca. When he kisses her passionately, Emilio walks in and pronounces his dismissal. Arriving in New York, Anna learns Se'or Ortega can only see her the next day. In addition, she and Alberto must share a hotel room.

Alberto and Ana's high spirits give way to panic when they discover that their suitcase with the model uniforms has been swapped. When Barbara learns that Alberto is on the road with Ana, she immediately questions Alberto's loyalty and cross-examines Mateo.

Back from New York, Alberto calls an e-press conference to present the finished unforms. Inspired by New York, Ana wants to invest more energy in her label "Philippe Ray". Barbara surprises Enrique and asks him to end the affair with Patricia immediately.

When Cristina learns of her brother's adultery, her anger hits both Patricia and Enrique. When Isabel informs Emilio that she doesn't have long to live, he urges her to connect with Alberto as his mother. At the press conference, Enrique once again pushes Alberto aside.

Mateo holds the fort at the Galeras Velvet, assisted by Patricia. While Luisa looks forward to the first Christmas without Juan, Rita is tormented over Pedro's upcoming marriage to Rosa Maria. As the first snow falls, Ana and friends end the year on the roof terrace.

Lucas has an eye on Clara, the fiancée of his brother Mateo. Enrique refuses to hire aid workers ahead of the Epiphany, the busiest day of the year. Under pressure and looking for inspiration in some night-time tailoring, Rael catches Ana trying to steal zippers.

Isabel confesses to Ana to be Alberto's mother. After Alberto's birth, Rafael married Gloria, brought Alberto to him, had Isabel admitted to a mental hospital and claimed that she had died. Cristina's world collapses when she learns of Alberto's transgression with Sara.

On the morning of his wedding to Rose Marie, Pedro is a bundle of nerves. When the wedding ceremony begins, Rita takes flight. Isabel's revelation to Alberto does not go as she hoped: Alberto considers her a swindler and forbids her from smearing his father's memory.

The audience is thrilled with the Airsa uniforms and Ana is in the spotlight as a fashion designer. Cristina bravely endures a reunion with Sara. Enrique and Barbara present themselves as a happy couple, but Patricia knows the truth. Isabel's departure is interrupted.

Half wistful, half jealous, Cristina observes the devotion with which Alberto takes care of his mother. She would be very happy to receive some of that attention herself. Barbara suggests she befriend Isabel in order to regain Alberto's affection.

The lavish flower bouquets that Blanca has been sent of late arouse Rael's jealousy. At dinner, Patricia makes no secret of her opposition to Isabel. When Isabel withdraws and Cristina expresses sympathy for Patricia, Alberto gives Cristina an ultimatum.

When Isabel learns of Patricia's coup, she suggests Alberto take legal action against his half-sister. Pedro doesn't expect much from the bachelor party he will celebrate with Jonus and Emilio, but the young men have underestimated their manager's drinking strength.

Carlos pays Ana a visit and a brawl breaks out when Alberto comes to her aid. Knowing his short marriage is over, Alberto is full of emotion as he watches Emilio dancing with Isabel in an intimate embrace at the house of Mérquez. At that very moment, Isabel collapses.

Preparing for his mother's funeral, Alberto has resolved to not only fight for Ana but also to regain Patricia's shares. In a touching ceremony, Rita and Pedro marry. Pedro will not have it easy with his father-in-law but the occasion will be celebrated exuberantly.

Alberto and Ana return from a holiday in Madrid. Cristina unexpectedly shows up and urges Alberto to rethink their separation, but Alberto sees no way back. Cristina, though, has found an ally in her sister-in-law Bárbara, and with her help she is plotting her revenge.

Patricia may have lost her majority of the shares, but she reminds Enrique that if the two of them gang together they can still overrule Alberto. Alberto is voted Man of the Year. During his acceptance speech, Cristina walks on stage and whispers she is pregnant.

After Alberto's cool reaction to the news of her pregnancy, Cristina is seeking comfort from Bárbara. when the press is celebrating the new line of fashion house Oxford: It consists exclusively of exact copies of Raúl de la Riva's latest creations.

After Raúl de la Riva's line has been plagiarized, Alberto needs nothing so much as a new fashion line This line is to be delivered by a duo consisting of the well-established Raúl de la Riva and newcomer Philippe Ray alias Ana.

On her first working day at the Galerías Velvet Cristina and Bárbara demand their own office. Alberto states he will relentlessly press for his marriage to Cristina to be annulled. Mateo is also urging Bárbara to find her own flat.

Don Emilio is starting to doubt that it was Enrique who has stolen Raúl de la Riva's designs, he rather suspects Estebán. When he takes Doña Blanca into his confidence, she pays an unannounced visit to Estebán and meets his daughter Lucía.

Don Emilio has been invited to a simple dinner with Rita, Pedro, Jonás and Conchi, he accepts the voucher for dancing. Clara has already, after a few drinks, provided Víctor with all the background information necessary for his work in the Galerías Velvet.

Rita's nerves are on edge: Her mother-in-law Conchi has not returned to her village yet. When this leads to her first serious quarrel with Pedro. Raúl de la Riva still hasn't forgiven Ana for having an affair with Alberto and therefore faces her with latent hostility.

Alberto is optimistic that Cristina will sign the application to have their marriage annulled. In celebration of the occasion, he hands Ana the key to his villa. But Cristina is not disposed to agree to the annulment. Instead, she makes every effort to become pregnant.

Estebán accompanies his daughter Lucía who is acting quite rebellious, to another working day at the Galerías Velvet. When she dares to be insolent towards Raúl de la Riva, Doña Blanca gives Lucía a resolute dressing-down.

At the Airsa event, new shareholder Pablo Granados congratulates Alberto on Cristina's pregnancy. Alberto comes up with an excuse to explain his wife's absence. When she turns up suddenly, she discloses to Ana that Alberto once had a fleeting affair with Sara.

Estebán proposes to Doña Blanca, which she accepts. When Raúl de la Riva arrives alone at the Galerías Velvet, Rita's hopes are dashed that Ana could have been working with him somewhere on their new line. But since her quarrel with Alberto, Ana has not come home.

After Lucía has separates herself from her father Estebán, Doña Blanca harbours her in the staff wing of the Galerías Velvet. The young woman is turning into a talented seamstress.

On the day of the fashion show, reporters are lurking at the staff entrance and shower Ana with questions about her relationship with Alberto.

An uncle of Rita and Clara has died and has left a considerable fortune. when Alberto realizes that the child Cristina is expecting cannot be his. He makes a total break with her and withdraws completely.

Determined to gets his revenge on Cristina, Alberto tells the true circumstances of his separation from his wife to journalist Michelle. On the following morning, the truth about Cristina's pregnancy is the newspaper's lead story.

Ana is still in love with Alberto. Not able to talk, she writes it in a letter. When Raúl confesses to Ana that he had been mistaken about Cristina, and urges her to stay true to herself. Ana pockets the letter to Alberto, for the time being.

Determined to prevent Alberto from his journey to Cuba, Ana has a car take her to the airport. The plane is already waiting on the runway. In the lounge, Ana discovers, paper planes with written code expressing affection for her. Ana decides to follow Alberto.

Enzo Cafiero has great plans for Ana, but Raúl de la Riva, too, is facing a new challenge: He is meant to design the first gentlemen's fashion line for the Galerías Velvet.

Sara immediately leaves for Cuba, to give support to the local authorities, concerning the search for victims and wreckage. In the Galerías Velvet, everyone is devastated.

The memorial service for Alberto has already begun when Raúl reads the riot act to Mateo, leaving him no choice but to attend the ceremony.

Don Emilio discloses his fears to Doña Blanca, concerning Ana's pregnancy. But the head of the workshop, too, had once been at the point where Ana now finds herself. She assures Ana and Don Emilio of her complete support.

Pilot Carlos, vis-à-vis Don Emilio, deplores the severe fate of unwed mothers, but Don Emilio assures him that Ana and her child will never lack for love and protection.

For Raúl de la Riva and Toni the time has come to say goodbye: With the fake papers provided by Raúl, Toni gets in a taxi which is to take him across the border to France.

In the workshop, Cristina again heaps abuse on Ana like one demented, until Enrique takes his sister away and brings her to a sanatorium. Although she doesn't love Carlos, Ana reflects whether she and her child would not be in good hands by his side.

Five years have passed since Ana started her career as a fashion designer for Velvet. Now a renowned designer, she returns home from a trip to London with yet another award. Rita congratulates her best friend on her success.

In a meeting with Patricia, Raul, Enrique and Marco, Cristina suggests they should hire the famous actor Humberto Santamaria for the advertisements of the men's collection. At the same time, Alberto Jr. offers her daughter Cris a tour around the Galeras Velvet.

Rita learns she might be suffering from cancer, but she needs to have further tests done. For now, Rita won't share the news with anybody within the Galeras Velvet, let alone her husband Pedro.

Much to his surprise, Emilio learns that the actress Petra had returned from Argentina to be by the side of her sister Aurorita, who suffered from terminal cancer. Pedro is appointed Marco Cafiero's assistant and his new position requires the utmost discretion.

Patricia wants to put an end to her affair with Enrique. Mateo is given a warm welcome from everybody at the Galeras Velvet except his ex-wife Clara. As the press conference announcing the cooperation with Humberto is imminent, Raul cultivates his dislike for the actor.

While Carlos does all he can to be a model father to Alberto Jr., Cristina pressures him to tie the know with Ana as soon as possible so that she can get in touch with her ex-husband Alberto. Rita has still not told Pedro that she was diagnosed with cancer.

Still feeling humiliated by Raul de la Riva, Humberto Santamaria calls a journalist and pretends to have designed the men's collection himself. Ever since Pedro became Marcos's assistant, the Galeras Velvet are lost in utter chaos for lack of an operations manager.

When it dawns on Pedro how much Rita's treatment will cost, he asks his family for help. However, their contributions won't cover the full costs so Pedro turns to Marco and Enrique. Enrique offers to cover the rest, but Pedro has no idea there will be strings attached.

At the new workshop, Ana, Clara and Rita run into Marco, who inspects the premises and offers to lock the building after they leave. Late at night, Enrique asks Pedro to destroy Aurorita's workshop in exchange for the money for Rita's surgery. Pedro sees no way out.

Thanks to Raul's support, Humberto easily masters the shooting of a commercial. Raul understands that Humberto, who might be unaware of his true self, only puts up the façade of an arrogant star. Ana blames Enrique and Marco for the destruction of the new workshop.

Valentín suffered a hunting accident and is now in a coma. According to Enrique, the rifle went off while Valentín was cleaning it. Later, however, Enrique confesses to Patricia that he pulled the trigger. He also promises to put an end to Patricia's suffering.

When his boss Manuel asks Mateo to drop the feature on Ana's new collection, Mateo refuses. However, following Marco's request, Cristina pulls the strings and Mateo gets fired. At the same time, Mateo receives an envelope sent from the New York based company Silk.

When Jonas gets accepted at a Paris fashion school, Raul de la Riva shares his enthusiasm and helps him organise his trip. Raul also proves to be a true friend to Humberto who has his coming-out. Before leaving for New York, Mateo spends an evening with Clara.

Enrique and Patricia are interviewed by the police: The accusations of Patricia's mother-in-law and the testimony of a nurse make them suspects in Valentín's murder. Ana is devastated when she learns about the show of her prêt-à-porter collection instigated by Marco.

Ana gives notice before getting ready for her wedding. Presuming that Cristina's offer to help might mean mischief, she asks her to supervise the car pool. As they haven't yet heard from Mateo, Rita and Clara hesitate to inform Ana that Alberto might still be alive.

Raul can hardly wait to meet Alberto again, but first of all Jonas needs his help for the presentation of his wedding dresses. Patricia is agitated by the prospect of Alberto's return and Ana hasn't told Alberto Jr. that his father is alive and on his way to Madrid.

Talking to Alberto, Ana understands that Alberto's many letters were never delivered to her. Besides, she did not expect any as Alberto was declared dead. Meanwhile, Cristina sets the tailors' shop on fire. Alberto Jr. notices but they both become trapped by the flames.

To make Mateo return to the publishing house, his former boss promises him his own magazine and doubles Mateo's income. The day of Ana and Alberto's wedding has come. Ana, Rita and Clara are slightly melancholic as Ana's wedding also implies her departure for New York.
