Reyka

Reyka is summoned to a hearing to approve Speelman’s parole application to be set free after twenty years of incarceration. Pillay brings a severed arm to the police station. Reyka sends the dog unit into the fields and the police find another body… and then another…

Reyka and the police investigate the six decomposed bodies found in the cane fields. Meanwhile, Speelman asks Reyka to retract her parole statement in exchange for secret information on Lucy, the other girl Reyka believes was kept in the house all those years ago.

Reyka is saved from a burning hut by a mysterious hooded man. Heir to the land, Alex Tyrone, is implicated in the strange events happening in the cane fields. Reyka and her team investigate links between Macingwane and the Msomi royal household.

A soil sample taken from the cane fields and it's disappearance starts to draw suspicion onto the police team and especially their boss, Hector Zwane. Samuel finds out that their killer will be attending a worker compound party and he ropes Nandi in to go undercover.

Nandi is attacked by the killer and is a hair breath away from losing her life. A raid on the worker compound results in Soda being taken into custody. Reyka believes they have arrested an innocent man, and when Speelman starts to give her advice on the case, she knows.

Nandi's family and colleagues struggle to come to terms with her death. Soda finds himself a man on the run. The Tyrones experience a harrowing incident at the dead of night. The team start to piece together links between this event and their cane field killer case.

Reyka re-enacts the shooting of Soda and is shocked to discover that all the evidence leads back to one suspect: Samuel Zwane. The police identify the taxi rank as the place where the killer meets his victims so Reyka goes undercover to pretend to be one of these women.

Reyka is captured by a ruthless serial killer who is about to play out his murderous MO on her. In the meantime, Speelman's plot to control Reyka reaches its final stage as he has orchestrated the abduction of Thuli using Nina, her au pair, as a confidant.
