Bad Banks

Investment banker Jana Liekam is suddenly fired by Crédit International Financial Group (CI), supposedly for making a serious mistake. Jana unexpectedly receives help from Christelle Leblanc, CI's head of investment banking department, with a job offer at a competitor.

Not without ulterior motives, Leblanc lures Jana with inside information about an imminent billion-euro deal that the industry knows nothing about yet. After initial hesitation, Jana gives Fenger the tip about Leipzig2025, but does not reveal where she got the info.

A protracted case of the flu and work around the clock physically put Jana on the verge of collapse. In return for evidence of Global's illegal shell company, Silver Mountain, Leblanc supplies the investor Jana needs to successfully complete Leipzig 2025.

Jana confronts Leblanc with the upcoming merger and her reasoning that Leblanc wants to discredit Fenger so that she can get the new post. Leblanc hatches a plan to make Sydow and Fenger conclude that Jana is the one who obtained evidence of Global's fake balance sheet.

From now on there's no turning back. Jana continues to work doggedly towards making the major project assigned to her a success. Nevertheless, Jana receives threats on a massive scale: the matter of her renewed dismissal has already been decided.

Deutsche Global Invest is bankrupt and the German government is forced to use taxpayers' money to support the merger of Crédit International and Global in order to avert an international financial crisis. Jana makes a surprise appearance and asks Leblanc for a job.
